Today, we say our final goodbye to our friend and fellow Rotarian, Tammy Lucas Wing. Tammy was a shining light in our community; she was so sweet, a dear friend to many, and a great Rotarian. She was a devoted member to the Cairo-Durham Rotary where she also served as our club Secretary. Tammy was a huge helping hand and actively involved in many events, fundraisers and services that the Rotary has done for the community. Her dedication to the club and her selfless efforts to serve others will be deeply missed.

Thank you, Tammy, for being a wonderful friend and Rotarian and may your legacy continue to inspire others to make a difference in their community.

"The foundation upon which Rotary is built is friendship; on no less firm foundation could it have stood." - Paul P. Harris

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 16th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Millspaugh Camerato Funeral Home, 139 Jefferson Heights, Catskill.

On May 5th, the members of the Interact Club met the bus filled with donated items from the Men and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in America. Their "Stuff the Bus" fundraiser certainly kept the transportation department, Interact students and Cairo Food Pantry members busy all day organizing the food. Pics shown have filled the bus with snacks, juice boxes, and soup items. This has been one of the most successful fundraisers for the Backpack Program, a program that has been in existence since 2008.

We had a great meeting last night with the Rotary Club of Greenville, NY. We were delighted to have Hannah Calhoun & Cassandra Martell from the Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition come in as our guest speakers, and, talk with us about their organization and what they do in the community; along with discussing helpful resources to utilize that are in the area, events that they have coming up, how they want to unite and spread awareness to everyone in the area.

They also taught us how to use the Narcan spray, and, gave us pamphlets and kits for us to have and to distribute, big thank you for that!! In the near future, we would like to help bring this life saving tool to local businesses and to more people in the community so everyone has a kit.

Unfortunately, the fight against fentanyl and opiate overdoses is not over and you never know when a life needs saving but it helps to have the tools, knowledge and resources on hand just in case. If you would like a Narcan Kit for your home please contact them or us and we will get it to you.

Please like and follow the Columbia-Greene Addiction Coalition facebook page to keep up to date on their happenings and upcoming events. Also, check out their website for more resources, information and insight, support groups and much more at: www.c-gac.org

What an extraordinary turn out at the East Durham St. Patrick's Day Paradearade!! We were so happy to be a part of yesterday's celebration and cheer!! Even with the wee bit of rain, it didn't stop the fun 🍀 !! It was AMAZING and uplifting to see East Durham come alive - so many people out walking about, supporting businesses and having a great time!!

Congratulations to our honorable Grand Marshal, Mr. Neil Kellegher, who led the parade. Many thank yous to the East Durham Parade committee, all businesses and groups in the parade, to all the parade goers, and, to Mike O'Connor for making this day possible!! You could definitely feel the community and their support on this day and that's what it is all about: community!! It was a great embrace by all parties. Thank you to everyone for making this day a total success and unforgettable!!

We are very excited for next year's Saint Patrick's Day parade and looking forward to upcoming parades and events this year!!
